Let’s get started!
By now, we’ve learnt how to play notes with all five fingers on each hand — that’s ten fingers working together on the piano!
Here’s a quick recap:
✋ Left Hand:
C 💚 – B 💛 – A 💗 – G 💜 – F 🧡
🤚 Right Hand:
C 💚 – D ❤️ – E 💙 – F 🧡 – G 💜
Each finger has its place, and every note has its colour! 🌈
🎹 Starting Position
Before we play, we always begin from the same position:
✨ Both thumbs rest on Middle C 💚 — one from the left hand and one from the right.
Then, the rest of the fingers gently sit on their keys, ready to press and play when their turn comes. This helps us move confidently and smoothly as we play.
👉 It’s super important to always use the correct finger for each note!
🎵 A New Song to Try: The Banjo Picker 🎸
To practise our hand position and finger coordination, we’ve got a brand new tune: The Banjo Picker!
It’s fun, rhythmic, and the perfect way to get used to using both hands together.
Are you ready to give it a go?
👏👏👏👏
